FILMS

A chronological collection of videos I have created, directed and/or edited over the last few years.

Some university projects and a couple of independent films.

RUSSELL BRAND

2015

After meeting the London correspondent of Sweden's biggest newspaper, Aftonbladet, at a City University alumni meet & greet, he suddenly asked if I could come along to a Russell Brand interview as cameraman.

Being a huge fan of Russell, it was a pretty surreal experience to be able to spend half an hour with him, as my first "professional" journalism job.

I set up a three-camera interview setting in an attempt to capture all of his movement and gesticulations. In the end, Aftonbladet's editors just chopped off the first 5 mins of the MCU angle and called it finished. I thought this was a shame, as we had gathered half an hour of fantastic comedy mixed with political ideas that made Prospect name him the World's 4th most influential thinker. We concluded we should have done the editing job ourselves, but nonetheless it was a true pleasure to meet him and an experience I'll never forget.

BIKE POLO

2015

A short documentary I made as my final dissertation project at City University.

This film follows world champion Luca Semeraro (20) and the rest of the bike polo society in London, portraying the century long history of growth and decay of the sport.

Due to cycling's general rise in popularity, the community now face a tough decision. Should bike polo in London continue to be a amateur sport for friends to play for fun or should it follow in the footsteps of USA and turn professional?

PEDICABS

2014

TV package created for 3rd year journalism, about the rise of pedicabs - the rickshaws targetting tourists in Central London - and the accusations from taxi companies that they provide a new kind of hazard on the streets.

I got the idea when on holiday in Portugal in the summer. Local television showed the similar problem of tuk-tuks in Lisbon and I thought the situation might be the same in downtown London. Turned out to be true.

SOLARBOX

2014

A TV news package I did as a group project at the start of 3rd year.

London's first green phone booth had just been unveiled in Tottenham Court Road. Two LSE graduates who came up with the idea of turning a classic red phone booth into a charging station for smartphones, ran entirely by solarpower.

We got an interview with one of the two co-founders and did a report just days after it had arrived.

RUNNIN'

2013

A short portrait documentary I made during my exchange at Ryerson University in Toronto.

I met Giuseppe randomly in the lift at the school's campus. I noticed his prosthetic legs and asked if I could take his portrait. He agreed, we became friends and I thought his heart-breaking story deserved telling.

It wasn't before I asked him if he would be able to go through the day of the accident that he truly opened up, but the answer he gave us then was so heart-warming and breath-taking that it hardly needed editing.

RALLY ULLEVÅL

2013

Short video created with my little brother for fun and to get creative with the GoPro.

We drove a RC car around neighbourhood with a GoPro attached to the roof, before rerunning the track to get multiple angles.

Later we added some car sound effects and an old rally soundtrack and made it into a full miniature stage in our local area.
